Awesome!
Final report since we had to return home today. What a great week. This was my wife’s first trip to LOZ and my sister’s first time crappie fishing. She is visiting from Phoenix. My son is one hell of a first mate and boat captain and really helped us keep everything safe.
The good Lord blessed us with a safe trip and amazing weather.
We pulled cranks last night at a new spot somewhere around the 25mm. The bite was on but lots of small crappie, a few whites and probably a dozen LM bass. We ended up with a dozen keepers 11-12 inches.
My sister caught this 14 1/2 which was the big crappie of the trip. With the exception of walleye I like to let go what I consider to be a big fish so she swam free to pull a line tight and add a smile for someone else.
Again, trolling 1.5-1.7 mph with 300s and flicker shads. Only one fish on the flicker shads so they didn’t stay out long. Wild thing was catching 3-4 fish for the other colors 1. Crawsome was very good and Firetiger and Popsicle worked well. Barely anything on glitter shad and chromes that had been working so well which surprised me since it was sunny.
This morning I was solo so shot docs. LS is amazing. I spent a lot of time just watching how fish react to my bait and was surprised at how many follow it back to the boat but never bite. Boated probably a dozen keepers in 2 hours plus a few shorts. Released everything today so I had more time to fish. Caught most of them on Monkey milk and blue ice.
I started crappie fishing about 4 years ago and hope this helps somebody. Lots of great people who helped me get started here on CDC.
Thanks everyone and tight lines.

Looks like a great week at LOZ! Nice report!
If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles
Sounds like a great week with family. Congrats.
Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then.......
you can teach an old dog new tricks then. WTG in paying attention and figuring out how to getrdone with crappie. Great family week and look at the smile on your family and especially sister. Like to release those bigger crappie myself and let someone else ketch em when they get bigger.
Great post and report! Congrats on the productive week
I've been crappie fishing almost my whole life and hardcore for over 20 years. Forums like this and youtube make for a quick learning curve. I remember when I only dropped a minnow straight in brush piles and that's about all I knew.
