    Default Fall fishing trip suggestions

Since Canadian border closed our spring trip was cancelled. Rescheduled for first week of September. BUT now it looks like they will extend the closure past June 21 through July. Not official yet. So if they don’t open this year any good ideas on where to take a fall fishing trip? Have been looking at LaCrosse, Wisconsin or Bull Shoals.

Venice LA on an inshore redfishing trip. Fall is a great time to go.
Most fun fishing trips I have ever been on.

Look up Randy (badaxed) on here if you want more info on LaCrosse area. He lives up that direction. I visited with him up there once upon a time and he put me on fish on the Mississippi. Though...that was more early summer, not fall. Still...I'm sure he knows a thing or two.

I don't see him get on here much anymore so...if you're interested, let me know and I'll PM you his number.

WI would be at the top of my list, you could check out the Heyward area.

We have been looking at Northland Lodge near Hayward Wi. Rates seem pretty reasonable and they are on a “quiet lake” that prohibits jet skis and pleasure boats. I talked to the owners and they seemed like what you are looking for. Probably try them out next year. Used to go to Kenora On which is 18 hours while this is more like 8-9 hours.

Bayview Lodge World Class Fishing on the Rainy River
We went up there for Several years! Cabins are nice, Owners are Nice, fishing is good on the Rainy River and rent the launch and have a guided walleye trip on Lake of the Woods!
I keep hoping my son will say let's go back! All my old fishing buddies are fishing where every cast is a fish and they're all big!
Just DON'T go all the way across the river! IT'S CANADA!

We go to Perrault Falls, ON. Going up we break the drive up. We stay in Clouquet, MN overnight. But coming home we drive straight through.

Thanks for the suggestions. Still holding out hope for the trip back to Canada in September. Already have reservations for next spring. Just looking for a backup plan for fall. The waters we fish have all been high and muddy this year. Missouri is high. Gasconade high and muddy. Osage has been the best choice because of the lakes controlling it. But it has been running high just not as muddy. Mostly murky. Last week it was in good shape for color. Bourbeuse up and muddy.
