Muskie would be cool but not the sunburn. I remember when they had them in Smithiville (tiger muskie) Man they would ruin some balsa wood crankbaits!
Well I hadn’t looked at the forecast in a couple days and the last time I had checked it said overcast and mid 70s. Turned out to be clear sunny and HOT. Put in at hermitage campground and pushed cranks a while with not much luck whatsoever. Caught a short muskie, a few bass, and a couple decent crappie. First Muskie on pomme so that was pretty cool. Had a real nice walleye on but it got off right next to the boat. Tried sniping with the livescope, marked a few fish but nothing seemed interested. Pushed jigs for a while and called it quits around 2. Water temp 74. Did catch a decent sunburn. Might look into one of those millennium umbrellas if anyone has any feedback on those that would be great. I ran into an ol boy at the bait shop on my way home and he said that his luck that morning was about the same, which made me feel a little better. All in all beat a day at work for sure, and it’s not common for me to catch that much of a variety all in one day.
