    Default Spider Rig Nets

I was at Truman this weekend and observed a lot of fishermen spider rigging. One group talked to me and gave me some good info. I think I'm going to try it once I figure out what length pole to start with, rod mounts etc. I did see several very long nets standing up in several boats but can't seem to find any. Is there anyone that has one or knows a brand or place to purchase one. Thank you.

I know some of the serious riggers will shoot me for saying this but I don’t use a net. I use 14 ft rods and just bring them around and flip them in the back of the boat. I typically fish by myself so running 4 or six rods. I do have a Frabill fold up net just in case I get a NTS that needs to be landed.
I will probably break a tip some day doing that but until then I think I will continue doing without the net.

Same, a net by and large is just in the way. When running cranks it seems like I spend more time trying to get the net out of the bait and fish and not get stuck in the finger than anything else. Keep one stuffed away for that bonus walleye or something but just flip the crappie in the boat.

That said I do have a long ass net of unknown manufacturer. It’s a telescoping jobber that I’ve never actually used.

I was taught to flip em in the boat(jigfisherx). used 14' rods, I have 12's cause I'm cheap. I also have a telescopic net that stays in a locker.
We did snap a rod last week on a 12" crappie. I think my partner was holding it perfectly straight up though, I dunno I was watching the fish.
The only net I use on the regular is the smaller net that fits in my livewell, that's the net to buy!

I see alot of folks knock em but the jenko net for me has been amazing. Its easy for one handed use. I run 14' rods and can pick up the rod in one hand and scoop em up with the net in the other hand!

    Do what you like.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
