Default Just a little wind on MTL

Caught a few in the wind today on Mark Twain. Wind definitely made it interesting for sure. 5-15 fow 48-50 degree water temp all on jigs single poling. Gorged on Shad and one had gotten ahold of a frog from the looks of it. 6 around a 1 1/4+ that I weighed. Name: IMG_6353.jpg

That'll work right there for sure. Looks like you did okay... even in spite of the wind.
Thanks for sharing your windy day on the water with the rest of us.

Fished for about 3 1/2 hours and the wind was brutal. 3 foot plus rollers 25 mph with 35-40 gusts non stop....

I knew you would love those pics Mark! WTG and winds that high with white cap waves? WOW that is one great day in tough conditions. Were you in back of coves to get to calmer water or where were you fishing? thanks for report!

Wow I'm impressed. Congrats on your catch! I fished Saturday 3/28 .... coves, main lake points 20 ft to 2 ft you name it. I found fish in two coves but couldn't get any to take the jigs. I don't recall a time I've gone to MTL and not caught at least one crappie. So it was the first time for me to get skunked on the lake. The water was very muddy and I fished the 107 bridges (both of them) and most of the bays around route U. I didn't stay in one place more than 30 min and I fished from 11:00 to 5:00 PM. Did you catch yours on vertical wood?

I fished mostly the north fork and the middle fork. Do you mind sharing which fork you were in?

Mid lake coves most fish on underwater structure or open water
