we just run the boat basically into the bank. spider rigging in buck brush in 2' of water can get pretty entertaining

I have never tried it but it looks like you could try some flats way up the grand. You would need to do some research on Creek channels etc. I think some high water would be to your advantage to get the fish up in the willows. One or two places that comes to mind would be the area between the Grand and Deepwater Creek around Sparrowfoot. Check the map south of the ramp. The other area that comes to mind would be the points we drive around upstream from Bucksaw by the campground.

Love to wade in spring for spawning crappie. have had my best days doing that with either shorts and sandals only, or my hunting rubber boots and have had so much fun doing it. Then brought out the youth and his dad who came up turkey hunting had them do it and had a ball watching this 12 year old Fling the crappie back on short to his dad! LOL. Then brought the wive out to do so and she loved it. Nice thing is you can hit areas that the boats can't get too because they are too shallow. Have hit places that you drive over all the time and then said what the heck and it was on! Did buy regular waders like you see them use in trees in MS but havn't used them yet.

any shallow area you see with brush or downed logs is a candidate for incredible fishing. look area over and I use a long stick to probe depth but don't usually get over my calf boots with my long pole 10 or 12 footers. dangle a foot or two of line and pull jig to tip of pole and then you can put it in small areas and it can be loads of fun.
