I went to the Registration Office this week with the form from the Court signed by the Judge. They told me they needed the Bill of sale with the owners/ Sellers info and sale price...Turned out, no I didn't...I was there for over an hour at the window. After I informed the the owner died some 20 yrs prior to the sale, his wife had passed since the sale, and they had the info they wanted on file, as the tittle was in the mans name who's wife sold the motor to me, they finally said well we have to have proof of how much you paid for it. An other woman at the adjoining window said they would have to charge me the fair market value of the motor...Well I should have said OK, but NOOOO! I couldn't just sit there with that, I had to produce a picture with the price tag on it...Come to find out IF I would have kept my mouth shut I wouldn't have paid 1/2 of what I did in sales tax...All and all I still can't complain though. Counting their fee for paying with my debit card, and the tax's, It cost less than a 20.00 bill for registering, and the tittle. No property tax as it's considered part of the boat it's self. I paid them in December and for the boat and trailer, they were less than a $10.00 for the year...So now I have the registration in my name and waiting on the Tittle to come in the mail...It's now all mine legally...WOO-HOO!!!
