Nice!
Was loading up the boat Friday evening and frost was already on the cars. The neighbors were walking there dog and ask what I was doing with the boat. Told them I was heading up to Mark Twain Lake in the Morning. They thought I was nuts. They crappie fish in the warmer weather but not when its cold out and that's the way we like to keep it. They ask me if I was going by myself and I told them that I had enough crazy friends from Crappie.Com to go fishing with in this cold weather. On Wednesday I shot N2 Crappie a text to see If he wanted to head up there Saturday and he didn't hesitate at all about going. Come Saturday morning it is 22 degrees. The good thing that we knew was the wind was supposed to be light and the sun was supposed to shine. I was thinking about North fork area but he was wanting to start by the dam area. We put in at Ray Berhens and motor over to the bridge piers. Fished there and I caught a 9" one right away but that was it. Tried different piers with no luck. We seen fish on the locator along the bluffs on the way to the piers and fished that area with no luck even though we were graphing fish all over. Mark wanted to hit a cove he knew that had trees in it. That was the ticket. We would catch a couple nice ones and then nothing for a long time and then catch some more. We both caught a lot of short ones. N2 Crappie caught the big one but all the fish were nice and fat. The weather was nice for December and we had a good time. In the afternoon we ran in to Route U dad Jeff and talked to him awhile. Okay maybe we are a little nuts but it sure was fun. [ATTACH=CONFIG]361465

Jeff was good. We didn't get much time to spend with him because it was around 4:30 and he had to get back up to his end of the lake before dark. He was staying over night and said he had a fire in the cabin if we wanted to stop by. Wanted to but you know how one beer leads to more and we had to head back to St Louis that evening.
