I’ve heard stories of how good the fishing use to be. I missed out on those days.

Fishing is still good. The BIGGEST problem is all the BIG jet boats running up and down the river. Much better during the week. During the summer on weekends you almost get washed out of the river if trying to fish. Upriver around I44 maybe better.

I canoe the upper a few times always during the week for that reason. The best small mouth fishing I’ve ever done. We catch big goggle eyes for dinner. If you got kids it is a great trip. Fish and floor all day camp on the banks. Great times.

The lower part is still good fishing but the amount of BIG jet boats is crazy. They don't fish just run up and down the river. We have a small jet boat but we use it to run upriver then fish our way back down. Hubby retired so we can go anytime now. Caught a bunch of small white bass and catfish Monday. We love fishing the Osage from LOZ down to the Missouri. This year high water release from dams messed that up for the most part.

I always caught a lot of goggle eyes when I fished it also. They knock the heck out of your lure when they hit it.

That’s a good day fishing! Lower or upper section? Impressive catch for the gasconade, been awhile since I’ve seen a stringer like that. Congrats
