I need help extracting the files I downloaded from the MDC web site containing Fish Attractor coordinates, The files are in gpx format and I have no clue on how to extract them from the zipped file. I tried using a program called 7zip but with no luck. Anyone have experience in this I'd sure appreciate any help.
Most of my money is spent on fishing, fishing tackle and boats, the rest is wasted.LSL Angler thanked you for this post

The gpx file is what you upload into/onto your GPS or fishfinder I do believe.

It worked fine for me.
Don't know what sort of computer/operating system you're using, but I'm on a Microsoft Windows 10 rig (fully patched to latest versions), and these instructions assume that. If you're running something else, YMMV, but...in my experience this work just as well as far back as WinXP!
I'm also assuming you got the .zip file downloaded okay, and could find it in your Downloads folder, cuz that's where I'm starting.
1:> Find the file you've downloaded (probably in your Downloads folder on a Windows box) and right click on it. In the menu that appears, LEFT click on "Extract".
2:> A new window appears asking you where you want to extract the files to. Make a note of that location. Also note that there is a checkbox there that asks if you want to open that target folder after unzipping the files. Leave it checked and click "Extract".
3:> A new Windows Explorer window pops up showing the actual .gpx file.
From here, it's gonna depend on your graph. Not sure how you will upload that to your unit cuz that will probably be different for everyone, but...sounds like the first hurdle was just extracting/unzipping...
Hopefully this will get you that far. Not sure why 7Zip wouldn't work just as easily, but...weird.
Let me know if this helps.
