    Default Canada fishing/vacation trip

Was up there July 4 week. Weather was warm. The first day it was 86 but the went back down to 80 and high 70's. Had a great time. Fished a lot. Fished in the morning. Came back to cabin to rest and eat then would go back out in the evening. So much more light up there in the summer. Fished until 9:00 pm and it was like it was 7:00 pm. They had a problem with wildfires. Needed rain badly. Thursday we could smell smoke but couldn't see any. But Friday the wind had changed and smoke was everywhere. Very uncomfortable to be in. The fires were about 2 hours north of us. Didn't catch very many walleye but did catch a lot of pike and yellow perch. Caught my biggest pike 35". Water temp was 10 cooler than previous years but the mayflies were still hatching. Caught some smallmouth bass also. Just wish it wasn't so far to drive. Took 21 hours coming home because of road work and a motor home catching on fire in the middle of road work area. Name: DSCN0831.jpg

I enjoyed my years of going up there! Then the border crossing got to be a hassle, so we started going to Minnesota right on the border. Caught bigger fish in MN than Canada!

Hasn’t been a hassle for us so far. They ask a few questions then send you on your way. They had all the slots filled with vehicles to check when we went up. A variety of ages on the people. Doctor asks more questions when I go there.
