    I use the trolling motor and have an Ulterra with the ipilot link. At idol speed the big motor will only get down to 2.3 MPH. I have been trolling for crappie At 1.4-1.6 mph.

    Glad to hear it! I'm itching to get down to do some trolling on the Niangua this year. Just can't seem to get away.

    You can use a big motor if you purchase a couple large drift socks and tie them to the front cleats of the boat.
    trolling motors are so much better though.
