Default LOTO - Grand Glaize Fishing report

Went down Wednesday night and stay through Sunday. Tore them up on Thursday when it was still warm. Probably caught 30+ with little effort. Used jigs, minnows, and a beetle spin. However, once the first cold night came(Thursday night) they shut off. Only grounded out about another 10 the next two days with the cold weather. The crappie are definitely there on the banks or close to it, they just need some warmer weather.

    Go get em folks!!!

We fished those same dates. Areas from MM 15 to 18. Our results were much the same as above. Hot on Thurs.
Tough on Friday and Saturday. But we did manage 2 limits each day. We found them mostly out more
toward the main lake. In the darn WIND. Sunday forget it. nap day. Today slow morning, hot afternoon. Fish
still more out towards main lake. FULL of eggs and shad. Soon things be on fire.

DavidAC, thanks for the update. I’m glad that it wasn’t just me when the bite turned off.

I would say that 90% of the fish I cleaned were all females and absolutely stuffed with eggs.

So you are around the Pogue Hollow cove and Backwaterjacks area it seems. Right? If you wouldn’t mind, I would love to go fishing with you sometime this summer. You could pick me up or I could pick you up. I have an old school 1995 18ft Champion. Let me know and keep on catching them slabs!!!

Sounds good bugman. Unfortunately, I won’t be down again until May. I’ll hit you up on your cell and maybe we can go fishing together some morning. I have a couple honey holes to share and would love to show you were I plan to place my summer pattern structure this year.

moretg1980 you can get a hold of me at 217 766 6686.. and you are correct I'm near Pogue Hollow cove

bugman... 64 temps? wow where? (kiddin on the where) couldn't find anything above 63 in this area last week commonly seeing 55 to 59. Also I was checking
your website link, very neat. Any reason you carry sickle hooks more than the usual?

Fished again yesterday. Had to work a bit.
Did not hammer them but ended up with again 2 limits for the day.
Water temps got up to 63 late afternoon back in the back and we found a few more fish. Looks like males getting back to work.
Nothing fancy, just bobber and a bobby garland shad and swimmin a slider.
Some of the more known community crappie spots yielded ZILCH for some odd reason.

I just want to fish with you guys and pick your brains for information, spots, etc and what you have learned over the years so I don’t have to waste my time. Thanks guys, let’s hook up this year for sure!!

also, I will be sinking a lot of the Moss Back Rack Structures(they have already been purchased) and some of my own and I will definitely provide you all with all those locations too!!

Bugman don’t fish with nobody, been telling me for years that we are gonna go, LOZ or Nader. I am going down this Thursday after work until Sunday. Only time I’ll see him is when I stop by his place to pick up my order! Even offered him a sammich and a beer, still, no invite........
