I heard that Lowrances version would be more like Garmin panoptix technology

    I heard that, too, but....

Saw BPS/Cabela's had their spring fishing catalog out so was checking it out. Took me to this site:

    Access Denied

They say that graph has the Livesight but I didn't see ANYTHING in their videos that looked like the Garmin Panoptix.

I guess, further down in the description it just says it is "compatible"....does that mean it is upgradeable once it comes out?

That should be correct Joe, the HD Live units are compatible with Livesight or whatever it is that Lowrance’s version is called. It is also compatible with the last generation Carbon units. There is still some Carbons being closed out at cheaper prices last I looked. Lowrance is tight lipped about the Livesight which is supposed to be released at the Bass Masters Classic or before. Only thing they will say is it compares to Garmin Panaoptix, may or may not, time will tell. Guarantee this, the whole thing taxes my peanut brain more than I can handle at times.
