Warm water the main lake has been iced over since we got the cold snap weeks ago and hasn’t gotten warm enough too thaw it out yet.

I was there 2/14 as well. I left one short of a limit. As soon as I felt the wind cool off I headed for home. A lot of the main lake is open, I caught a few of my fish out there but the water is cold, around 38-39 degrees. The lake has risen a lot in the last couple months also. I would guess at least 3-4 feet.
Nice job.
If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing polesdep589 thanked you for this post

Once the main lake thaws out, I'll make the trip up there. Got several brush piles that always produce well up there. I guess I need to spend some time in the warm water arm for those times when everything freezes up though. I've always just avoided it since that's where most boats tend to hang out. It's been several years since the main lake stuff didn't produce 2-3 limits for us in a trip.

That sounds great sto4. I’ve only fished off the bank with headhunter and Barry g. Need to take my boat up there this spring.

I usually try to avoid the warm water ramp area too except when the lake is frozen mainly because of the gravel road and all the boats that fish that area.
