    Default Painting crankbaits

I am just getting started and was wondering if you needed any other colors besides the opaque. Not sure if florescent or pearls are necessary.

I've been checking out a 3d printer and the files that make crank baits. I noticed they also have files that make the stencils used in airbrushing, scales, stripes and other little odds and ends. I watched some you tubes and they were just using the colors of the pla they were made with. They were catching bass, but apparently they work. As to color I think it's a personal preference since we keep changing them until we find what they want. I also noted some where painted to glow, some where made to rattle also.

i started recently too and im here to tell you buying paint is basically an addiction. I started out with the simple 7? piece createx opaque or transparent set and now i have literally like 40 bottles.

I love the Flo colors, orange, pink etc. Be sure and do a white base coat!

I think I finally have just about everything I need. Going to start repainting a few old crankbaits tomorrow until my blanks arrive.

I've been interested in painting cranks as well but didn't realize that much went into it. I thought it was slap some paint in whatever pattern you want and call it good

Good luck man. Now everything will look like a stencil. I’m assuming you’ve watched some of the videos on YouTube?

Ya know there are only 3-4 colors you need to catch fish. All the rest are there to catch fishermen.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
