I should also note, I have seen some who remove the split ring and put a snap clip in it's place - anybody do that?
Those of you who pull crankbaits, what size of the snap barrel swivels to you use? I have always just tied directly to the crankbait, but noticed several commenting about using barrel swivels so they can quickly change size/color of crankbait, and I think it's a great idea.
Thanks in advance.... ready for warmer temps and a CHIEFS VICTORY!!!

I like the inner locking snap swivels. Size 3 or 5. I leave the split ring on my baits.

#3 Duo lock snap with a high quality swivel 18in. above the snap.
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it
From an old movie I saw
BPS Fastlock Snaps.....I use them because they are suppose to impart more action and I leave the split ring on. And if they don't make the lure work better then whatever they are cheap. I can cut and tie on another crank just as fast as messing with opening the snap, so I put a snap on all my cranks when I buy them.

Agreed with Speck on the size although I strictly use the KVD/Mustad Ball Bearing Swivel w/ the Fastach clip. There's no opening/closing and that, in theory, eliminates a weak spot. Cranks go on and come off super fast once you understand the motion.
Other reason for using the snap swivels is to reduce the twist in your line, especially when running braid.
