Default Need some help and advice for Smithville

Hello everyone! Newbie here asking about advice on fishing Smithville from the bank!
Where do you guys usually fish around when fall and during spawn? What type of bait via. curly tails or others, and what colors do you guys use and recommend?
Also do you guys use any type of attractant via. crappie nibbles or sprays?

Plan on some long walks. Access for bank fishing is difficult at Smithville. A little information on your desire or ability to walk over rough terrain would be helpful.

I usually fish down by the main marina off the rocks. And over by little Platte every once in a while also on the rocks as well!

I hope other people respond because I'm not all that successful. In general the black crappie being stunted means you would expect the white crappie to be larger. All things being equal you would also expect the white crappie to be more common in the main lake and the blacks in the upper lake. At Smithville the reports from fishermen seem to point to size being the major challenge but where they find the larger fish doesn't adhere to the upper lower lake logic. My preference is upper lake during the spawn and main lake summer and fall. I like the upper lake for the spawn primarily because it's easier to pick a spot and the wind is less of a problem.

Fish twin coves in spring easy walk and fishing, catching can be tough sometimes but that's fishing !
May all your live wells be full.

Where is twin coves if you don’t mind me asking? All I’ve ever known with smithville is under W bridge, the main marina, and little Platte.

Bet you could try Sailboat Cove, there's a brush pile I will show if you pick me up.
