    Default Pomme 9-15-18

Fished a benefit Crappie Tournament on Saturday out of Cooper Cove. Had only ten keepers, so didn't fair well in the tournament. Had fun pitching to standing timber with minnows until the sun got up overhead. Pomme still is not my favorite lake, and this weekend just helped make up my mind. It's a literal gar hole, there were gar chasing shad everywhere we went. Truman and Stockton are going to see the majority of my time the remainder of this year.

I'm sorry to hear you did not have any luck. My experiences there have been much more positive than yours.

only 10 ? I would consider that a very good day as I have yet to catch a limit of keepers and remember this was a benefit and catching crappie was icing on the cake

Did not say I was unhappy with my day, what I did not care for was the water color that made it very hard to see tree tops six to eight inches under the surface. All I could think of was the next wave would bring my boat down on one of those tops and skewer my boat to a Pomme pole.Lol. Plus the amount of gar clasing shad made me want to have my bow in the boat. Could have filled the boat with gar.

As they say down in the Ozarks - wait a bit, it will change.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Hopefully it will start cooling down.

Hadn't been on Pomme this year until last month. Being raised on Table Rock with clear water, this black water is confusing to me. Don't really know how to attack these conditions. It kind of reminds me of water color of the lakes I've fished in Canada.

Heard the same from a buddy, deep brush piles paying off with 12"+ Crappie.
