    Default Mark Twain

I will be headed to Mark Twain the first of October. How is the crappie fishing down there? Any hints on where to fish?

Wife and I fished Thursday and caught 20 keepers, fat keepers, 9 1/2 mostly but a few 10's and a 12", fishing bridge piers 12-14 ft down, they quit on us we thought but found out they went deeper, started catching again at 22-24'. That was now in 2 weeks it could change, somewhere to start....

Thanks mongo! I'm a little surprised they went deep on you. I'm up here in "cooler" country (Iowa), the have been 8-14 feet here for the last week or two, and the bite has been good. Heading down to meet some buddies at Twain, so looking forward to trying it.

Just not much on posting, never get the right words out, as far as tips I'm glad to help when I can, just don't think I qualify to tell people how to catch fish. rather just read what's going on.

Tell you from experience fishing with you that you know what your doing as well as anyone else. we all are amateurs but out to have a good time. All you can do is say what happened to you and it is always appreciated. Glad you got out with your wife and did well good for you both.

Bummer, I'm going to try to get down there Friday in time to get the boat wet. I hope I find where "that" guy was!

Look up Kenny Wilkenson when you are up there. We put him on our prostaff and he guides on Twain. But he is very free with info when it comes to helping people have a good trip and catch fish.

were you back on those bridge piers mongo? that's one place we found them along with some other boats. they were in timber too if you went down to bottom first and came back up a couple cranks at time till you found them in 12 - 20 fow. spotty tho, we limited out every day but not many at fish cleaning stations.
