Been fishing out of Bucksaw with pretty good success. Fish are on the flats shallow. Anywhere from 4 to 8 FOW. 1/8 Oz jig tipping with minnows.

Don't be afraid to move to another flat if they slow down. Look for the same depth. Look for submerged tree tops/stumps.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Well we tried our first hand at fishing Truman. We're actually from IL but here for some construction work in Warsaw. We tried Pearl Bend on some flats and got nothing but dinks then moved east to a small creek and picked up on 2 cats and 3 white bass. We would like to get on some decent crappie so we can treat our Hispanic crew to some real fish tacos. Any locals help would be greatly appreciated. I could attach a contour map if anyone wants to pm info. Big Mike said there ain't no dang crappy in this lake!!!!!

Well tell big mike he has no idea what he’s talking about. This is the best crappie lake in the state and one of the best in the country. There’s a reason why crappie masters comes here 2-3 times a year. I haven’t been out in months so I’m not much help but there are several people in this post that have replied that know what they are talking about. Jigfisher is a good friend of mine, take his advice as closely as you can he’s never steered me wrong.

The issue I have with Truman is how overwhelming the cover is. You can fish timber for days and not get a nibble. I have been a few times now and haven't caught more than a couple.

It's all about being in the right place at the right time, someday I'll figure that lake out.

Been fishing Truman since it was a river. Let me know when you get it figured out. Seems like I get it dialed in and something changes whether it temp water level or something. Unless you can fish every other day you keep having to adjust as you go. I guess that’s why it remains a challenge.
