Glad you got both the fish and the rod and reel back. Hope his knee is alright...
Went to the Osage to fish. It was very murky from the lake. So went for catfish. I caught a 5 1/2 lb blue on hot dogs. Hubby couldn't get a bite so he moved his rods from the front of the boat to the back behind me. He had them stuck between transom and gas tank. Soon I heard "Oh ----". He made a quick run for his rod. Tripped, fell and twisted his knee and watched his rod go over the transom and sink. Well crap. We tied on big treble hooks and heavy weight and started dragging tryin to hook the rod. Couldn't find it. Went back to fishing. Wasn't getting any bites and decided to move. Hubby was pulling anchor up and said I have fishing line. His line. So he started pulling one end of line and said get the net the fish is still on. He had a 7 1/2 blue. Got it in and then kept pulling in line and pulled his overboard rod and reel in. It was unbelievable.
Glad you got both the fish and the rod and reel back. Hope his knee is alright...

If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles

Bad day for that cat...good day for you guys! Nice!
I think that's where "fishermen lie" came from...honest fishermen/women telling the truth, ya think they could have came up with a better story, nobody said ever.
Awesome!!! hahahahaha
an outstanding fishing story, or adventure as it were.
