I think my dock is just down from yours on the Little Niangua, and I too have the same problem. Jig heads stuck in dock lines, de-icer lines, chair cushions, tube covers, and anything else people could get a jig hung up on. If you can't fish a dock and not get hung on everything there, go fish a freakin' tree somewhere. I'm not opposed to people fishing my dock and enjoy chatting with folks as they fish by our dock (when I'm not fishing or kids aren't swimming that is).

If you get off your boat and onto my dock, it better be to hand me money...if not, you're asking for a heap of trouble. As far as I'm concerned, that's no different than walking into my living room uninvited.

So if someone got hung on your dock would you rather them break off, or get the lure? Even if it meant briefly setting afoot on the dock?

As far as I know there's never been anyone charged with Trespass for stepping onto someone else's dock to retrieve a hung lure.

If a neighbor kid kicks a ball or throws a frisbee into your yard, is he/she not allowed to go get it ?

Some people are just insufferable jackasses.

I would rather have someone retrieve their lure instead of breaking off and leaving it there. But I also think some take advantage of it. I also understand trying to do something to stop so e of it. Some don't care and some try not to get hung up.

Guess it depends on if you trust they'll be as careful as you would getting them out of a seat cushion or boat cover without tearing 'em up...I've had to get 'em out of both on my dock.

I fish a lot of docks Arkansas and Mo. I usually have permission.that being said the river was their before the lake and dock! If I buy the Proper Lic to fish that body of water that gives me permission to fish that water under the dock!! If game and fish puts out fish attractors,Habit and I have a fishing Lic for that body of water that gives fishermen the right to fish that bruspile or attractor or the water under the dock. The dock owner owns the DOCK.NOT THE WATER UNDER THE DOCK.My Two pennies.I have been run off of fishing docks fishing even with a gun in my face not funny!! Sorry usually don't comment on these type of post.G,Slab.My two cents.
