    Default New Camper

We recently bought a new camper - in the past on our Missouri road trips we stayed in motels. Now we are looking forward to the camping experience - just wondering about Stockton and Trumann Lake camp sites - how far in advance do they fill up and how much notice do you have to give to reserve a camp site.

I camp at truman a couple times a year [Longshoals] it is a big campground and have always been able to find a campsite, also camp at Stockton three or four times a year [Cedar Ridge] if you want a choice site or have one you like I would reserve it as far ahead as possible. I hope you enjoy camper as much we do.

Stockton State Park is REALLY popular. Reserve in advance a good bit. Hope you like camping with a lot of other folks. We go during the week, weekends are packed.
Bucksaw camping is Ok, facilities need work, they have been allowed to run down. Federal ya know.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Thanks for the replies. Also wondering if any of you guys camp at Table Rock. Do those campsites fill up? If so, about how far in advance do you need to reserve them?

We also camp at Longshoal. It's easy to reserve at recreation.gov We do reserve 6 months in advance to get sites on the lake, but as J.M. said there are usually sites available.

We also camp at cedar ridge. If you want to camp in the new loop B loop reserve way early. Its the only loop right against the water where its real easy to leave boat in the water while camping.
