    Default Suggestions on battery?

Hello all, I have searched the forum and am in need of opinions on what battery to buy for my 16 ft jonboat running a 55lb minn Kota motor. I have had 2 cabelas batts that I didn't think lasted nearly as long as they should have. Any and all replies are appreciated. Love this site lots of info!!! The wife and I have 3 trips down to Missouri planned this year finally

My last set were from batteries plus. Starting on fifth season. Still ok but plan to replace this year.

a couple of 29 class batteries from WalMart are fine for the money. Just make sure you charge them as soon as you're done fishing for the day...make sure you don't have some kind of slow drain in your electrical system that is drawing power when not in use. Be careful not to leave something on that will drain them dead especially in below freezing weather. Either leave charger on them...or if storing for a while just unhook one side. And put a charger on them once in awhile to make sure they stay topped off. Deep cycle really are best charged with a 10 amp or better charger. Heavy use in hot weather make sure water in cells stays topped off with distilled water.

I have a pair of the Everstart deep cycle marine 850 CCA batteries from Walmart, at 86 bucks a piece they are worth the money and will normally last at least 3 seasons sometimes 4 or more if properly maintained.

Only ones I have any luck with is AC Delco. Hard to argue about not going with wal mart since no matter where you are you can get them swapped out. I just do not like swapping out.

I like my Exide battery from Menard's...good price especially when on sale and watch for the 11% rebate

Be sure to NOT top your batteries off with water if they are FULLY charged. NOT a good idea.

Why would you not if the cells are low? Just trying to learn something new.

Walmart Neverstarts here. Series 29, can't complain at all, especially for the price. Got a series 24 on my camper, also can't complain about it either
