It didn't matter the time of year or the time of day, you could always catch a mess of fish. Then for 3 or 4 years after that, it's like the Crappie picked up and left? What happened?

YOU CAUGHT ALL OF OUR CRAPPIE!!!!!!!!!! Give 'em BACK!!!!!!!

I hit it perfectly last year! Our group of three guys were there right when they started moving shallow to spawn. It was awesome fishing- then my brother went back the next weekend after the word got out! There were boats EVERYWHERE! Hopefully we will repeat it this year during our crappie get away.

Reminds me of the quote by famous philosopher Mike Tyson: "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". LOL! Best of luck and hope the water warms up. People used to fish the re-reg area with good success, but I admit I never fished it.

As promised, an update. The plan wasn't original thought at all but, it worked. Focused entirely on rigging mouths of creeks and timber bout halfway back..... staged from 5 ft - 12 ft. and caught fish, although the fish higher in the water column were more active. Maiden voyage for some new electronics so focused on that for a bit but all in all, a success.

40 degree water so went VERY slow and had to plow through a ton of fish to trigger bites but they're there.

No pictures this time.......between new electronics/trolling motor and running a bunch of rods in a 15 mph wind, phone stayed stowed.

Thanks for the report! I've done some rigging on Twain last year and did pretty decent-until the fish moved shallow where I could catch them using other methods. I bet Sandy Creek was pretty busy the past weekend, if I remember the Twain boat hatch patterns...

Only 1 boat at the ramp and didn't see another one in any of the areas we were in......... kinda strange, but nice.

Good job! I'm sure the wind kept some at home, no doubt there was white caps in your live well! I fished a tourney on the rivers on Saturday and made a bait run out on the 'sippi. Between the barges and the wind, My partners 24 ft boat took a pounding!
