    Default on Otter this morning

After being at BPS the last two weekends and hearing all the talk about crappie we had to get out and brave it. Five crappie and two catfish. Started on Otter and left and went down below Bucksaw. Didn't tear them up but at least cured a bit of the cabin fever. The ice was 9 inches thick everywhere we drilled. I would think that would take awhile to thaw.

Good to see fish pictures. Good ICE report? If you can walk on it. Good to see you again at BPS yesterday.

Good on you for getting out there, but not the news I wanted to hear. 9", that is terrible.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

Way to get after them. But like Gordon said I don't like the 9" of ice. I'm gonna start fishing in the bath tub before long :
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

NINE INCHES! That will take a bunch of weight, seeing it looks clear and hard. We used to drive on 10 inches. Watch the weather temps, it'll thaw quicker than you think. Looks like fun but I lost all my cold weather blood.
The fishing was so good I thought it was yesterday

Braver than me getting on the ice. That should be plenty of ice in Otter to still be there for a couple weeks. Glad you got out and found a few to cure the cabin fever. Charlie and Steve Rogers told me at BPS that one of the guys who fishes Crappie Masters and also fishes a few of our CDC tournaments went through the ice on Perry lake in Kansas. Sounds like the auger saved him. I guess it was stuck in the hole he was drilling and he pulled himself back out by being able to reach it.

I love the look of that ice. Good and clear. And thick. Wish we had that around here!
