Thanks for all the kind words and help guys!
hey RD- you might try orchlens or tractor supply for leaf springs. if I were needing a spring on one side, I'd take a hard look at the other. I do collision repair, and when I replace a leaf spring on a vehicle, we do both sides. always. maybe not as important on a traier. probably needs tires if you plan on driving much. if she needs trailer lights and wiring, spend the xtra $$$ on a led kit and solder every joint. keeping old lights working on old boats. doublecheck the wheelbearings. install bearingbuddies if you dont already have them. good luck with your new toy.... but they're NEVER FREE!!!
1) See if it floats first , then proceed from there ... ;)
not that funny right there ridge
Nothing wrong with free....
Good luck project boats can be alot of fun.
Nice thing about it, it did not cost you anything, so anything you put into it to make it "your fishing machine" will be much less than buying one. I fished for years from an old boat I inherited from my grandpa. Trust me, it was nothing to look at, but it put just as many fish on the table as a 20k sparkley bass boat ever thought about. Good luck and when someone says, "Hey, do you spend all your time fishing or bailing?", just show him your stringer of slabs and ask him, "what the heck do you think?"
I'll bet thats one of those electric shift Johnson's you got there. It will take a special lower unit grease made for that motor. Had a 1969 55 hp. Loved that motor, worn shaft and all. Always had milky lower unit grease and a little metal in there but she always ran like heck. Good luck
Congrat's on your boat, hope you get it out soon to catch some fish.
