Default We're going to try it around noonish tomorrow

Don;t think we'll catch much but it has been up over 30 feet on the guage in jackson for almost 3 days now and looked as if it were falling but by the gauges on the forcast, it's steady and/or rising just a touch. According to the gauges, it should crest here very shortly and be falling by tomorrow. I had to beg off work and only time I could take off was tomorrow noonish. We'll see what happens. Only 3 or 4 boats there when I went at lunch today and they weren't biting at all.

I am planning on fishing Ross Barnett from the pier on the lake side of the spillway Wendsday night. Do any of you think the water level will prevent me from doing that? If so please let me know and I wont pack all my fishing equipment.

    Default Water level is fine

in the lake bud. Just below it it's WAYYYY up. You going to the Wood pier on the rankin side of the spillway? May want to try over by cock of the walk on the rock extension road. Had a couple friends that caught a few over there a couple weeks back. Fishing near the end and to the right, towards the Breakers condo's. Course IF you had a key to the boat piers, theres a certain one thats got a DEEP HOLE and all kinds of structure at it.. hehehe Been meaning to try it out cause the mexicans that were there helping do some work for malouf const. would fill a 5 gallon bucket of nice sized crappie in no time

Thanks for the tip on the breakers. I will keep in mind if the wind is bad or the fish arent biting. I like the wood pier due to the lights that draw all the bait. I look kinda funny out there with all the locals fishing cane poles and me using a little 2 foot ice fishing rig.

I have never had any trouble myself but was wondering your thoughts on crime in the area. I only fish there from 6:00 till about midnight.
