Default Rod holder for bottom seat rod and reel

Does anyone know if there are any rod holders that are compatible with bottom seat reel jig poles? I primarily single pole fish so all of my jig poles are bottom seat, but I’m thinking about learning how to troll this summer. All of the rod holders I’ve seen seem to only fit mid seat rod so any guidance on rod holders for bottom seats would be appreciated. Also, when trolling how is depth determined? I talked to a guy recently that told me if you let out 12ft of line that means your jig is swimming at 6ft but I don’t know how true that is.

My guess on rod holders they would need to openen where the butt of the rod sits in the holder. Then have to worry about fraying the line on the front sections of the rod holder.

Trolling is a broad term. Probably get more answer's if specify the type of trolling. Spider rigging, long lining, power trolling, crankbaits (flat lining or planer boards). Line out versus depth will vary in each one of those categories.

Ideal in any scenario are at minimum mid seat trolling rods with atleast spinning reels. Then you have bait casters and line counting bait cast reels. The latter used specifically for long line trolling or crankbaits.

Not saying you couldn't give spider rigging a whirl, but the others will be tough with rear seat jig poles and reels.

Where at are you in MS? I think a have an older 4 pole holder T bar set up from Driftmaster I could give ya.

I don't know of any "rod holders" that could be used to "troll" with a rear seat rod. Though ... you could probably "modify" one

Depth of your jig is determined by more than how much line you have out. Weight of the jig - speed - added weight - line size - plus how much line you have out are all factors.
    *For instance* .....
When I'm "Pushing" jigs, I'm going at around 1mph with 1oz of added weight. I calculate my jig's depth by length of line out by multiplying that length (below the surface) by 0.6 --- which means that every 5ft of line out equals 3ft of jig depth. (0.6=3/5) So if I have 20ft of line out below the surface, my jig is approx. 12ft deep. (0.6x20=12) That calculation is also dependent upon the line running from the rod tip to the water's surface at approx. a 45deg angle.
I'm also using Line Counter Reels, so my "distance" of line out is more accurate and can be repeated or modified when needed.

Without any added weight & actually Long Line Trolling -- check this chart:

If you can make your own just do it and make changes as you go.
I like an adjustable one where I can have the rod tip at the water's surface or high in the air.
I find some rod holders that I'd say a rear seat would work with.
I looked at 15 pages and found these.

You said "bottom seat" are you talking about a spinning rod or a rear seat where the reel is at the end of the handle?
