They are bitting, not eating. I've run in to it once in a while for always.
Fishing Grenada yesterday and I had probly the hardest time in a long time getting a hook in a fish.... I did catch plenty... but I missed so many fish it was ridiculous! I cannot tell you how many minnows I pulled off the hook that were scaled from about half his body to his tail! I tried speeding up slowing down, jigs tipped with minnows, plain minnows, and even ran a plain curl tail jig and had several of those pulled in half! The only thing I didn’t try was going to a really light weight rig but I’m not sure if that would help! What are some things y’all have done to help with this?

We had that same problem once when we were there in a tournament. The folks that won the tournament figured it out and switched to smaller minnows.
