    Default Sardis spawn??

Seems like dad and I always used to catch plenty of fish spawning after Easter. I just find it hard that the spawn is over but the fish are almost nowhere I’ve caught them around cypress and vines. Seems like every year gets harder. Y’all think the spawn is over or not even started good? Water coming up a foot a day I would think set them back. ????

Not started good yet ! When you get several 50° - 55° + nights and longer days you get ready it’s about to get good ! I know that the dog woods are blooming and red buds are blooming etc ! and most say it’s on then but we coming out of a unusual colder winter . drop you a thermometer down in 6-8’ water and check those temps water is still cold. Sure they are some that have prolly came up staring the process but these cooler nights will slow it up. they all want go at the same time but it should be starting to warm up this week!

Im not saying its over but we were on Sardis 4 weeks ago and they were going at it good then. We were catching them in a foot of water wading. The water has come up about 14 feet since I was there and the fish are reported in the submerged bushes now, which tells me they are still at it.

Been wearing them out since 3/5. There finishing up there spawn. April’s spawn is about to kick off. Thank god the lake jumped up most folks ain’t catching squat. That’s a good thing. There in the thick bushes. Not gonna be out in the wide open for easy picking. Got to get down and dirty with the snakes from here on out.

Has been an on/off deal for my friends . They did well yesterday ! Will be fast furious I would think as long as it stays above 50 degrees at night .

I talked to a guide today at Engineers Point Ramp who said he's confident that spawn is 90% finished on Sardis.

Maybe. But I’m not putting my waders up yet.
