    Default Livescope Transducer Mounting

Do most of you guys with Livescope mount the transducer on the trolling motor or do youuse a separate pole all together, thinking about upgrading to Livescope and are looking at total investment $$$$. Also, are you using a separate battery just for the Livescope? I have read that it uses up a charge pretty quick.

I mounted mine on my trolling motor shaft Really didn't like having to constantly turn a separate pole by hand. However A lot of folks do like the pole mount and it is nice when you engage spot lock and the TM spins around. I have two separate Millwaukee 18v power drill batteries one dedicated for the screen and another one for the black box. I really like the setup and can fish at least fourteen to sixteen hours before having to charge.

I have sold and installed several Livescope systems. A pole is the only way to go. Mine is posted on the main forum, it's homemade, now I build very custom T-Tops so take the "Homemade with a grain of Salt". Anyway my bud just bought a fiberglass painters extension pole and mounted his transducer on that. I use aluminum 1-3/8 handrail tubing for mine and a drop RAM mount off a very old Humminbird so I can tilt my pole out of the way or pull it completely, turn it around, and clamp down on the deck for over the road or rough water service. The wires are where you have to be on the money, they are fiber-optic, very easy to damage. The tubing ID is large enough the Livescope transducer does not need the spacer for the clamp and the Transducer wire connector will pass through the inside and out the top. 1/2in convoluted tubing will just enclose the wires, I use as a extra measure of protection. On all the Saltwater installs which include the Perspective mount I go one measure further and sew a marine vinyl sleeve that velco fastens over the convoluted tubing since most of those the wires are laying across the deck. The poles I make stow inside the top of their T-Tops.

I use a Dakota Lithium 12V /23amp hrs. Battery weighs 6.5lbs. This battery is small enough size wise you can almost mount it anywhere! I have fished 8-10 hrs a day with no problem at all.

Mounting on a separate pole is the best.
    I used 1" and 1.25" to make a mount.

I too use Milwaukee m18 batteries. I power both the head unit and the black box off 2 m18 batteries. I've ran it 8 hours and the batteries went from 20 to 18 volts. There is a learning curve.

Originally had mine on a pole, but have since moved to the TM. So far, most of my LS has been open water and I found it difficult to manage the pole, the rod and the
At the same time. Now that said, at times I wish I had it on a pole still. Fishing stumps and what not in wind will make you want a pole quick. Ice actually thought about adding another gls and transducer just so I could have both. Also thinking about the all aboard all sync

I run an ionic 50 ah for 1022/gls10 and 2 93Sv units. I’ve taken it down to 20% capacity before with all 3 units on sun up to sun down while running the blue pallet. Normal usage, I’m still about 70-75% remaining capacity running normal
Pallet and just 2 units 6-8 hour trips.

The wires are not fiber optic, but very fine copper wires. I have installed lots of fiber optic cabling, and these are definitely not it.
