The nuttier part is that I can put out (at least) 10 juglines but only 4 rods, even when I'm not even fishing for their precious crappie.

And then there's the big brother requirement of wearing a life jacket when the big motor is running.

The Corps of Engineers sure are some overbearing (choice words).

Pole numbers will not matter in a few short years down the road. Spider rigging won't be used unless you just want to troll through the scraps left by
the folks with advanced electronics. Knowledge of the outdoors will not play a part that will separate a good fisherman from the general public of almost
any age. Many times at night when I first went to bed, I thought how neat it would be if you could see (as if the water was clear) fish that were within
30 or 40 yards of you that you fished right by. I wanted that vision for me, I guess, not the general public. The world's technology is changing so fast.
You have to change with it or be left behind. I am going to be left behind and live off of memories. I have tons of them. For a while at least.

I'm with you, stormcloud. I just enjoy spider rigging and pulling crankbaits too much to move to single poling with livescope. Age is also a factor for me in holding a pole all day. I really believe there are plenty of fish in the lakes to handle the livescope pressure but I am concerned about the biggest crappie since they're the favorite target. I'm afraid that we will be excited at a two pound crappie ten years from now. Three pounders may be just a distant memory if the states don't go to some kind of a slot limit approach for crappie. On the pole limit question, I believe the MDWFP approach makes it harder to catch a limit and that does help preserve the population but it's kinda hypocritical with allowance of livescope and the camera enhancements that are coming.

There are more than just crappie. While I don't want to fish with 2000 rods for catfish, it'd be nice to run 4-6.

Take Lola with you and fish 8. You can fish 4 rods per person thanks to John Beshears (Rees Guide) and a few other CDC members.

Watching them in the shows spend all day staring at screen just doesn’t seem fun! I like to be on the lake to enjoy the outdoors yes I look at my side scan but I’m not looking at it all day long.... I made the mistake of fishin Grenada during one of the tournaments and several of the guys chasing fish nearly hit my boat and each other... it just doesn’t appeal to me at all! Fishing ant all about catching!! People need to learn that again!
