That looks like it would fall under the regs for "Hazard to navigation".
Call your Congressman, they're not doing much of anything right now anyway.

Yep, "G" that's really bad. About 5-6' higher it would be a bottom ripper for a glass or aluminum boat. I will save this pic to my PC and see what I can do. When I last saw it, it was at the top of the water. This is the perfect time to cut it off!

The Corps have themselves covered. There are signs post at every ramp concerning underwater hazards.

Need to at least drill a hole in it and tie a buoy to it so we'll have it located. If I get down there soon before water comes back up I'll take a portable drill and do that. Number for COE at Sardis is 662-563-4531, if you want to join me in calling. Squeaky wheel gets the grease (sometimes).

The number for Vicksburg Office is 601-631-5000. I called there and left a message asking them to take care of it. I called Sardis field office and got a recording saying Sardis office is closed now.

Catchum, to your knowledge, are you the only person who has tried to talk to the Sardis office? There is a quick fix we could do ourselves. Get a 6-8' PVC pipe just large enough to fit over the steel pipe. That way if any boat hit it, the pvc wouldn't damage the vessel. The lake now is at 236'. The highest risk for damage would be,(I'm guessing)about 240-245' lake level. That's when the greatest hazard for damage could result.
    What ya'll think?

OK, fellas. I just talked to a gentleman named Houston at the Sardis office. I told him about our concern at the Engineer's Point. There is a plan! They are going to put a lake level gauge at the site of the pipe, that's the reason it hasn't been cut off. He said it was planned to do while the water was low. They are paving the ramp lot right now. I told him they better make haste, because when it starts raining, it won't be long before it's under water.
If any of you guys are planning to fish there any time in the near future and see any activity, let us know by posting to this thread.
    Tight lines and be safe!
