    Default Fishing on Grenada Lake

Looking to go to Grenada Lake in the next week or two and was checking to see how the crappie are biting this time of year? Also, i have only been there once this past spring, and was wondering if there are any tips on catching a limit of crappie in early September?

I've noticed they try to be tight lipped about what is working up there. Trying not to encourage out of towners and all. Lol.
Bring your binoculars, look for grouped up boats and head that way. See what they're doing, find a patter and then duplicate it. Sounds like they are trying to sell folks on crankbaits and planer boards, same as last year. I'm headed up at the end of September, but will be running double minnow rigs. I will be watching the sonar but last year, 16 feet deep was about right.
Good luck, post your findings when you go (what did and did not work)!

Grenada is far enough south that you are going to fish summer patterns for several more weeks. Fast pushed jigs or minnows and/or pulling cranks will work. She's still up near summer pool so there's plenty of water to cover. With recent rains and more on the way in the next 5 days, fish will be on the move.

Doug it is bad when you try to help somebody and then get insulted. For what it is worth, Regretfully I've never been to Grenada but if I were going I would have some cranks and planner boards. Sometimes getting those baits away from the boat makes a lot of difference. I've used boards pulling jigs and they are a headache sometimes but they work more often than not. Thanks for trying to help others!

I have thick skin to go with my thick skull. The rest of me is slowly being remodeled. I just mentioned what worked very well for us a couple of weeks ago and this time of the year conditions on the lake don't change a lot.
