Default Cranking guide maybe on big 4 week of August 9th?

So I have the week of August 9th pretty well open and would like to go cranking one day Monday-Friday. I’m a spider rigger and fish Sardis when I get the chance to go. Never tried cranking So my question is are there guides available for that week and what’s the going rate for me and the wife or my 14 yr old son? Seems like a good idea to try with a guide and decide if I like cranking or want to make investment in additional equipment. Live near Jonesboro, AR and would like to just make the drive down early that morning.

I will second Rees Guide (662-458-8925)
There are several other really good guides as well but you would definitely enjoy a day with John.
Like G said take a look at the list.

Ok Crappie NEA I am back.
Back because I am not completely happy or satisfied with my previous answer. The Guides that "G" listed are each and everyone much more than very well versed on the big 4...In addition, there are many more not listed who are completely able to show you a wonderful day of crankbaiting, answer your questions , and provide a safe, comfortable, productive day. With my limited knowledge I could tell you bits and pieces of what I know about each one.Every single one is a hero in my book.
You can relax and be assured of not being able to pick a bad one. The big 4 is blessed to have some of the most knowledgeable, seasoned, and completely able guides in the nation. You can find more by googling "whatever lake guides". The ones you find are in very competitive company thus they are knowledgeable and produce or are weeded out by those who have shown themselves to be better.
Cranking is enjoyable, can get expensive, and a guy can easily get obsessed with it as far as always wanting to expand your arsenal.
By no means do I want to discourage you from begining. Your money will be well spent in learning and enjoying the day regardless.Do a little research ,pick out your favorites, make some phone calls.Every one of the guides can provide a day you and whoever goes with you will enjoy and remember.
I voted for Rees Guide because of an excellent enjoyable day with him on the water. Can't wait to go with him again.
    Enjoy your fishin...

Guys thanks for the input. I’ve made the decision to go it alone Might be a mistake but ordered up some cranks and plan to hit Sardis or Enid when the time comes. May even get away this weekend and try it. Thank you for your input and the guys I talked to about guided trips.

Good mindset to say the least. Pulling cranks around a lake at 1.5 to 2 mph isn't really all that hard. Bound to stumble on a few fish, I would feel like a thief charging folks for that simple lesson or simply reeling them in. Not much skill involved, just finding the water and the depth their holding in. You be alright, and the gear you buy will last a lifetime!

Just go to the crankfest at Enid and follow the boats.....stay a couple hundred yards behind them. Even tho the cookout etc has been cancelled there will still be a lot of guys staying at the park and fishing pulling crankbaits.
