I prefer getting a good night's rest and being up a couple of hours before sunrise and setup fishing before first light. Can avoid the mid day heat as well as the pleasure boating crowd. I bet it could be successful if it's done right. My only issue would be the bugs. These dang gnats have been bad enough the last few years with the high water during the day, I couldn't imagine at night with lights attracting them and mosquitoes from far and wide.
It has been discussed a few times since I been on the board, no real definite authorities on the subject I've seen on the MS board. Hopefully some with experience will chime in soon. I think it's a good idea in theory and wish you good luck. Also, check out a few surrounding states on the site. I think Alabama and Georgia have a good many nighttime crappie fishermen.
