    Default Lowhead Dam

Hey guys, I assume we are allowed to fish the river at Lowhead Dam right now? Really don't know who to contact for that.

All public waterways in Mississippi are closed. No matter what you have heard. Just because a boat ramp is not blocked, it is officially closed. I talked to a friend that is a MDWFP game warden and he said they are not to going to hassle people. But that doesn’t mean some other officer of some sort of wouldn’t write you a ticket. Most deputy type guys have an itchy pencil finger. You are taking a risk for sure. Go find you a private pond for the couple of weeks and you will be good.

According to the guv they are closed. But since they are owned by the fed, I think people are still going fishing. Makes no since at all. You can stand in line at the grocery store but God forbid you go to the lake.

According to the executive order, all State Parks and State Park Lakes are closed. It makes no mention of "all public waterways". There is absolutely no way that the limited number of CO's in the state can police all public waterways. They may block ramps, etc. but there's just not enough of them to go around. COE lakes are open for fishing, but cabins, pavillions, etc are unavailable for rent. I'm not sure who is "over" Lowhead Dam.

Deltarat, it's on the Pearl River north of the Rez. My question is moot now, as the Governor said that lakes and beaches will be open Monday.
