Is fishing picking up on the big lake? Gonna be nice this weekend and thinking of making the 5 hour drive but I heard its still pretty slow.

I’ve been the past two weekends and haven’t found much patten yet. Very long runs pushing between keepers. I’d also be interested to see if anyone has done much good.

People don't post on here like they used to, probably a good thing for the lake. Makes it a bit of a gamble to come that far, but, as a well known guide I know down there told me many times, "just come down and fish!"

I think biggest reason your not seeing a lot of posts is not a lot of people fishing and from folks I have talked to even less catching. And more rain is not going to help much in the short term. When I don’t see a bunch of guys posting here or on Facebook I know it’s slow. I’d give it a couple of weeks if it was me.

Transition time. They’re scattered. Lots of fish caught this weekend but big ones are hard to find.

No big ones. Big mature girls probably dump eggs deep if the lake keeps dropping 3” a day. Act boys looking hard for them big girls.
