Neglected to mention at quarter or half throttle, then circle a few times. Make certain the wakes of the boat are overly announced upon intrusion. Then proceed to ask a bunch of questions in a fast foreign accent, the more nasally and higher pitched the better. Lake Gernada late march Lake Gernada late marchLake Gernada late march

I have trip planned for this weekend. Me, My brother and Dad are driving down from North Alabama. My brother booked the trip and is trying to verify that we will still fish even though i know a lot of rain is scheduled this week. Hope we get to come, looking forward to it.

Sounds like someone wants the Civil War to start up again. Not that it ever stopped.

Not really. Still, there’s a grain of truth in the sarcasm. I’ve had bad experiences with ppl from out of State. The few bad apples cast a bad light on the MANY new friends I have encountered from places outside Mississippi while fishing the big 4. All I’ll say is that courtesy, common senses and basic respect goes a long way.

Over here in duck season we complain about the OOSers screwing up the hunt. Skyblasting, shooting the swing and calling too much, poor dog work. Then get to the ramp and all the trucks are licensed in Arkansas. We met the enemy and it's us.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

Problems with people out of state are not just true in MS. I primarily fish KY lake. We call them BFO's short for Blanks from Ohio. I have been fishing that lake my entire life and both of the horrible experiences I have had were from BFO's.

The first guy was having a problem getting his motor started. So, he thought he would just stay parked right in the middle of the ramps where no one else could put in and work on it. He did not clog up one the slots on the ramp, he clogged the whole thing by parking his truck right in the middle of the ramp. He had 7 boats backed up and not able to put in for over an hour. His response " this ain't the only ramp on this lake! " Ohio tags

Second guy. I was fishing a tournament, and we were in the money. We finally found some quality fish on one bed and were catching pretty good on it. First, this idiot blows past us and nearly swamps our boat. Second, he blows past us going the other way and nearly swamps us again. Third, he pulls up so close to us that his rod tips were touching my motor. I lost it! Needless to say, it did not end well. He told the game warden " we do not own the water, and he a right to catch fish like us...."

My advice, to people, is just simply use some common courtesy. If you have to get too close to someone just simply apologize to them and let them know you did not mean to interfere with them. Also, If you are going to run your big motor please, plane it off quickly and stay far away from people that are idle. O yea, If you can not get your motor cranked just pull it up out the way of others and work on it there.

First Off, I have fished all my life and living in North Alabama have dealt with the same type of out of towners coming to Alabama wanting to sample our local Honey Holes, Tennessee River, Pickwick, and of course Guntersville. I guess there is always that one. i have always heard about Grenada and always wanted to come and see and sample the local fare. However, we will not be coming in and trying to take over. We have hired a guide, and will be in and out over the weekend. While we could have came and brought our on boat and stayed longer. Just a special trip with my Dad and brother to make some memories. If that is so wrong then i guess, I am guilty. Sorry to impose and ask a question on your precious Mississippi board. I will go back to Alabama board where we are gentlemen and just try to share tips, and share in our love for Crappie Fishing.

You don’t have to get off this board. These guys are just poking fun. 90% of us on this board got over the griping about out of towers a long time ago. I for one have made what I consider very good friends from up north, Kentucky and Alabama from our camps and just meeting and talking to people on the lake. I figured right off the bat with your original post you had a guide trip set up. You are more than welcome to drag your boat over and fish any time. And lots of folks be more than glad to help you out. Sorry you got offended.
