    Default Okatibbee

Thinking about making a trip up to Okatibbee next week. Never fished there in the fall. Just curious if they draw the lake down in the fall/winter every year or if they only do it in the spring.

They normally draw it down as it is a flood control lake but right now it’s up pretty good

Okatibbee is only drawn down 4 ft from summer pool to winter pool. 443 to 339 rule curve. There's plenty of water now in the lake.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the creek channels. There's stumps located along the edges and they hold crappie year round.

Thanks for the advice. Got up there yesterday but only caught a couple of small ones. Okatibbee is still a fairly new lake for me so still trying to figure it out. Look forward to getting up there again and zoning in on the creek channels a little more.
