    Default Jig Head Color

I bought several packs of various color Bobby Garland jig bodies but I知 having trouble matching them to a head color. The electric chicken really doesn稚 match the chartreuse or orange heads that I normally use. Curious as to what you guys are using. Are you sticking mainly to black and unpainted? Am I overthinking this? I know I知 a bit ocd when it comes to this stuff but what I have just doesn稚 look right.

This is just my opinion. I do not try to match head color to body. I am one who believes in contrasting colors. Pink and black body I’ll us orange or chartreuse. Lime and chartreuse I’ll go pink or orange. Orange and chartreuse I might use black or bright green. Most guys I paint for want Chartreuse or orange and fish one or the other with every color plastic they use. That electric chicken would get orange.

Picking jig head color is the last thing on my mind while fishing. Now I知 a long liner and I知 more worried about depth and jig color. I normally fish with unpainted heads and can稚 tell the difference in catch rates between painted/unpainted.

I use basic white, black and plain. I do paint my plain heads with clear fingernail polish.

The clear polish keeps the head shiny and blocks corrosion!
