How many have you caught with injured tails? I’ve only seen two this year.

The gar are eating the tails off. Keeps em too short to keep. Keeps more crappie in lake for the gar to eat.

Quite a few as of recent. 4 other guys have noticed it also. Gar are nailing cranks and putting holes in em. Just figured it wasn’t a coincidence

I have caught a few here in last month or so that look like they have gar bites on them? At least that's what it looks like.

They are attacking minnows spider rigging. Caught a 2 footer and was able to shake off a much bigger on on Grenada. Makes for quite a strike when they hit

Used to fish a Mississippi rive oxbow called The Chute in Lauderdale county before the carp came. We learned quick to used cheaper cranks. The gar would tear them up.

Used to catch really good crappie there. Before the carp Sardis crappie
