Deep running crankbait?

Do any of y’all run any of the super deep or deep plus crankbaits? Wondering about some Mann’s deep+. Say they run 15-20 feet? Would like to get deep without having 120+ foot of line out. What do y’all do to get em down?

I'm playing around with the Off Shore Tackle Tadpole diving weights. I can use a normal sized bait and get it as deep as I want with the #3 Tadpoles.

If you use weights, why not just push? Or powertroll with large pony jigs.

I have some Norman DD22's that I sometimes use when i want to go deep. They are a large sized bait but the crappie don't mind.

That’s what I was wondering. Most of the deep plus cranks are 3 inches. I’ve got a bunch of old ones from my bass days. May hit em with some paint and see what happens.

Carolina rig a 1/2 oz. weight before a 3 ft. leader to your crank . Not an exact depth due to lack of ability to judge depth that far from boat . I will say that I start at 30 ft. of line out and add as no bites occur . Whatever the bite comes I can reproduce . I do this with 300 size baits .

I do the same with 1.5 oz

What's so wrong about "Pushing" ??

I Push jigs with 1oz weights @ 1mph & cranks with 2oz weights @ ~1.5mph (and if push came to shove, I have 4oz weights I could use) .... and so far I haven't had more than 50ft of line out (& that was Pushing jigs with 1/2oz weights, back before I had the heavier weights).

Personally, unless you "have to" fish from the rear of the boat, I don't see "Pulling" being more efficient or better than "Pushing" ... because I can reel in a fish from 20-30ft back faster than 70-100ft back, and still maintain my course & watch my DF for upcoming snags and veer from them at the same time. A quick course change when Pushing will move the baits away from potential danger spots and turns & turnarounds much quicker & in less time/space than when Pulling ... plus I don't have to remember/figure the distance between when the boat runs over a submerged tree/brushpile & how far back my baits are vs how much distance I'll cover & how much time I have to avoid them at my current speed.

And if <6" Crappie will jump on a 300 Bandit, I see no reason why a larger Crappie would think twice about jumping on a larger crank. And I've caught them & seen them caught every time I've been using cranks
