    Default Sardis Help

    Hello all,

I am planning on making my first trip to y'all's great state to fish at Sardis this weekend. I plan on dragging some cranks around and seeing what happens. Does anybody have a recommendation on what ramp to use with all the water? I am coming from the north and west (Arkansas) if that makes any difference.

    Thanks in advance!

    David

The ramps on either end of the dam are open as I understand and would be closest to 55. Teckville is open but would be a little farther drive. Wyatt’s and Hwy 7 would be a lot farther drive and if you’’re wanting to pull the first ramps mentioned would get you to your grounds quicker. Some may be coming back open on the south side but you’’’d have to go to Oxford and back for those. Good luck be safe. Maybe we’’’ll see you there.

Thanks! Which ramps are you saying get me closer to the fishing? I'd rather not run my little boat across that ocean if I dont have to!!

Engineers Point and Beach Point put you by the dam on the main lake. Just depends on where you want to fish but if I were pulling I’d be up that way, personally. I haven’t pulled this year so not sure where I’d go but it would be in that area first probably. More creeks coming in up that way.

The corps has a good map online you just have to know most of the ramps have been closed. I’m 99% certain the once I’ve mentioned are all still open. May be others but I’m just not sure.

15' duck boat. I'm comfortable in it and have taken it in plenty of big water but a Ranger it is not!

Wind won't be too bad this weekend either. Just a suggestion but if I were you I'd put in at Lezpedeza and fish the coves on either side of it. Its a ramp off the beaten path but there is some gooding fishing there close, bright colors and do not be afraid to speed up!
    Good luck, safe travels
