    Default Solo launch at Sardis

I’m planning to get out on the large lake at Sardis this weekend and will be launching solo for the first time there. The Mrs. is too far a long with our little one to come out. Probably my last outing for the year actually.
I haven’t been to the upper this year, so haven’t seen the water levels around the ramps to know 100% best option.

So my plan is to launch the boat (18” pontoon), pull it over and shore anchor it and run back to the rig and get it off the ramp. But I don’t want to have to go too far down to get the boat on the shore leaving the rig sitting there and end up being “that guy” who is a ramp hog since I know it could turn out to be busy day at the ramps.

Planning to get there around 8-9am and am looking at Beach Point, Engineer Point, or even coming in from the other side and getting in at Hwy 7 since I’ve heard water is dropping.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

I’ve new to fishing (just from banks so far this year)and will be my first time being on the lake to fish instead of recreational boating and am pretty excited!

I haven’t put in at the dam lately, but assume they would be fine. I know you would be good at Teckville. Hwy 7 should be fine also. I launch solo 99.99% of the time. A lot of these ramps are wide enough so two trucks can put in side by side allowing you to do your own thing. You should be fine.

I would launch at Engineer's Point. You can beach it on grassy shoreline west of ramp and you'll have about 50 yards to walk back to truck.

Be sure to tie it off on bank since they're pulling lots of water thru spillway and there's lots of current there.

Didn’t think about Teckville. Coming in from the east side to there or Hwy 7 ramps saves me some time and mileage. Thanks for the idea!

That’s always been my luck there. The parking was always full but I plan to get out earlier then usual and hope to hit the ramp around 730-8am Saturday morning.

that's your problem. Try at 5:30
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Water was high as expected Saturday but it went really well. Ramp had a good amount of trailers park.

Didn’t catch anything that day. Ended up having a rod holder loosening up and when I was on the other side of the boat I heard a splash and knew that wasn’t good! Rod overboard! Had my old first rod an inexpensive zebco from Academy on board after the spinning rod went overboard but whatever line I had spooled on it years ago was very weak and I snapped that line twice getting bites.

But still a great day on the water! Weather was perfect. Left the ramp at 7:45am and didn’t pull out of the water til round 5:00pm.
