    Default Land of the shorts!

Sardis again this year! I thought out of all the hundreds of 11 7/8 inch fish we caught last summer a few would have grown at least a 1/4 inch by this year. Catch to keeper ratio still pretty much the same as the last 2 years! The lake is absolutely full of crappie!

Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

I agree with eagle1. We lost a bunch of rigs the other weekend when we fished it! The closer you got to the brush the bigger the fish!

Wow, Although the 11/12" fish are not legal, I sure enjoy catching them. To qualify my statement on size, I do not keep any under 12.25 inch, because of shrinkage. Last summer, you had to catch a hundred to keep a limit. 15% keeper rate.

Anything over 12 1/4 and under 12 1/2 goes in livewell and stays there till safely away from boat launch.

If that sucker is 12 1/16th and you put it in the livewell in an hour it will still be very much alive and do good to measure 12 inches!!!! Seen it with my own eyes today.

Don't know if this helps. But I bought a pontoon last year and 2.5 mph is my average speed now with big motor. Haven't gotten a tmotor yet. But I mainly catch keeper fish. Pulling cranks. So maybe faster gets the bigger fish. My fishing boat our speed is 1-1.5.
