Thread: Bream fishing at Sardis?

Enid Lake a possibility. Wildcat break (Dean hill recreation area ) on top of the Indian mound just out from ramp or as you go over the weir it is the first land mass you see that is not the bank of tuck-a -lofa river , Other option on Enid is under the power lines at Bluford McCullough's. There is a gravel road that ends in water . Easy to find , base of huge hill on north side of lake where the metal power line post cross the lake . Best on high water years . You should be spot on now ! prepare for catfish as well .

Never heard of anyone bream fishing Sardis. Never caught one by accident even.

I have bream fished the upper lake several times after the crappie moved out of the shallows. I have caught some up around Blackwater. Mostly I have fished the Marina area and done fairly well. We used to find em in the cove where the Marina docks are in the cypress trees across from the slips. Guess it would be the east side of the cove. Caught a cooler full in there a few times in 3-4 ft of water. They were not no huge oxbow bluegill but they were big enough to fillet otherwise I don't keep them. They were always fun on a jig pole and light line. I normally fished 1/64 jigs tipped with cricket.

If you can put in at Graham Lake or the old Baker;s Field Boat ramp, you can experience some great bream fishing. the high water this year is going to make this area fantastic for bream. Bakers field was the grandad and fathers favorite place to bream fish. We would catch a cooler full everyday we went through out the summer.

Now these boat ramps are off the beaten path for Sardis. You are launching your boat into the old Tallahatchie River. if you can put in there you will see some beautiful cypress sloughs. nice bream holding around most of them.
