    Default Pickwick Goat Island

Very slow last two days. The water level is 5 feet below normal pool and a little dingy. Anyone else having any luck?

My wife and I will be staying at The Inn at Pickwick Saturday night and fishing Saturday and Sunday. I’m sure we will be that way sometime during the weekend. Will you be there then?

We fished there Sunday with only 6 keepers. Slow and windy? Check out the island after the tornado!Name: IMG_0162.jpg

I hope the goats made it OK through the storm!

They prolly hunkered down on the back side of the island during the storm. Me and wife were fishing there a few years ago. There was a big Billy, sporting some big horns and a swinging pair as big as softballs(Prolly the Boss), a few smaller Billys, and some Nannys. I watched them with some 10X50 binos I had in the boat. They are very elusive.

I thought Reelfoot was hard to fish!! I fished for about 5 hours today and only one spotted bass!! There ain’t no stake beds or anything in this lake. I found a few brush piles but the lake lice wouldn’t let me fish them. Gonna try it tomorrow unless the rain runs us off. Fished Dry Branch and the mouth of Yellow.

Nutbush, you might be better off going on down Yellow Creek around Goat Island. The mouth of Yellow always has a huge amount of boat traffic and lake lice. It won't be that bad on down the creek. There is a steep rock cliff on the east side of the island with some deep water and shallower water on the south side of the island. When I stay at the Inn, I make a short drive down to TN public ramp at the TN/MS state line which is in Yellow Creek. It is a TWRA ramp and free launch. Hope it don't rain you out. GOOD LUCK!
